What Should I Know Before Moving to Flower Mound?

Geography, school districts, commutes and taxes — the practical stuff first.

By Shaune Corbett

It's bigger than it looks

Flower Mound covers a lot of ground. East Flower Mound feels more suburban and is closer to I-35E; western Flower Mound is more spread out, with larger lots and master-planned communities. Where you land affects your commute and your daily errands.

Check school district by address

Most of the town is in Lewisville ISD, but parts are in Northwest ISD or Argyle ISD. Don't assume — confirm by address.

Taxes, HOAs and utilities

Texas has no state income tax, but property taxes are a significant part of the monthly cost. Ask for the total tax rate for any address, including any special districts, and review HOA dues and rules.

Before choosing a home, compare address-specific taxes and HOA costs in the Monthly Payment Calculator; Shaune Corbett Group's Move Plan can put those numbers beside your move timing and next steps.
